The bateau-école boating school in Saint Raphaël’s Port Santa Lucia, runs short courses to gain French boating licences. Courses include inshore boating license, extension to ocean-going license, river license and VHF certificate. Full description of the French permit system. During vacation periods, teaching and exams take five days. The courses are taught over weekends other times of the year. The courses aren’t cheap – from i80 for a VHF certificate up to euro 600 for an ocean-going extension, but if you think you might njoy boating the French waterways, it’s worth looking into.
